Here's what a lot of drivers don't realize. The windshield does more than keep the wind off your face. It braces the roof so it can't crush flat in a rollover, and it's the backstop your passenger airbag slams into when it fires. So the bond between the glass and the frame has to be right, and the urethane that holds it has to cure before the car is safe to drive.

Is it safe to drive with a cracked windshield?

Do you replace side and rear glass too, or just windshields?

Both. We handle windshields, side and door windows, and rear (back) glass. Side and rear glass is usually tempered and shatters into pebbles when it breaks, often after a break-in or a collision, so we also clean out the fragments and get the opening sealed up right, not just drop in new glass.

What kind of glass do you use?

We use quality auto glass that matches the fit and clarity of what came out of the car, so the seal holds and the view stays clear. Cheap glass can distort, whistle at highway speed, or leak at the edges. On a windshield especially, the glass is a safety part, so it's not the place to cut corners.

Can you handle the glass as part of a collision repair?

Yes, and that's often the easiest way to do it. How long does auto glass replacement take?

The glass swap itself doesn't take long. What matters more is the adhesive, the urethane that bonds a new windshield has to cure before the car is safe to drive, and that cure time depends on the product and the weather. We'll tell you when it's genuinely safe to take the car, not just when the glass is in. Rushing that step is how a windshield pops loose later.

My newer car has cameras behind the windshield. Does that change anything?

It can. A lot of newer vehicles run driver-assist features off a camera mounted at the top of the windshield, so the replacement glass has to be the exact right type, with the correct camera bracket, and fitted precisely. Tell us the year, make, and model when you call so we bring the correct glass. Cars with a windshield camera also often need that camera recalibrated after the glass is replaced, so let us know your vehicle and we'll tell you whether yours is one of them.
