Auto body shop that works with insurance
Brooklyn drivers can hand
the claim to.

Your car is sitting there with a claim number on it and an adjuster somewhere waiting on photographs. Bring us all of it. A body shop that works with insurance is one that bills your carrier for the repair instead of passing you an invoice and a form to chase. We take all insurance, so whoever your policy is with, the estimate costs you nothing, the damage reaches your adjuster documented, and the carrier pays us on the direction to pay you sign.

We Take All Insurance GEICO Direct Repair Shop Lifetime Warranty
Who Pays

Does insurance cover auto body repairs?

Yes, when the damage sits inside the coverage you carry. Collision coverage pays to repair impact damage from an accident. Comprehensive picks up what happens while nobody is driving, so theft, fire, flood, or a branch coming down over the car in East New York. If the other driver is found at fault, their liability coverage pays and your deductible never enters it. Size has nothing to do with the route either. A crease from a parked-car hit gets filed the same way a rebuilt front end does.

People usually call us knowing what their policy covers and not knowing who is allowed to decide what. Five decisions come up on every claim, and three of them are yours to make.

Your call

Which shop repairs the car

New York puts that choice with whoever owns the car. Your carrier is allowed to point you at a shop on its own list, and you're allowed to say no thanks. The claim gets paid the same either way. Tell your adjuster the car is at 28 Marginal Street and that's the end of it.

Your insurer's call

What the policy pays for

Coverage type, policy limits and your deductible were all set the day you bought the policy. None of that shifts because of which shop you drive to, and none of it is ours to change. Our part is writing the repair honestly, so your adjuster is looking at a real number.

The shop's call

What the car needs to be right

We pull the bumper cover and the trim, put the car up on the lift, and write the repair off the metal in front of us. Damage runs further than the paint suggests. A photo taken at the curb can't show a bent radiator support or a headlight tab broken clean off.

Your call

Where the insurance check lands

Sign a direction to pay and your carrier sends the repair money straight here. Skip it and the check lands in your mailbox first, and you're the one forwarding it on while the car sits.

Your call

When the work begins

Nothing gets ordered and no panel gets touched until you've read the estimate line by line and told us to start. If a line doesn't make sense to you, ask us about it before you approve anything.

Damage that reaches the frame rails or runs across several panels is collision repair in Brooklyn, and it's handled here on the same claim. Structural work gets measured and pulled as automotive frame repair, written on its own lines so your adjuster can see what it took. Smaller claims are ordinary auto body repair in Brooklyn, NY, and a scraped door or a parked-car crease is dent repair in Brooklyn, NY, both written up the same way for the same insurance companies. If the car won't move, our 24/7 towing brings it to Marginal Street first, typically in fifteen minutes to an hour.

In New York the shop is your pick.
Your insurer pays the bill either way.

The Money

Do insurance companies pay body shops directly?

Yes, once you sign a direction to pay. It's a short authorization that sends the repair money straight here, so the check never has to sit in your mailbox first. Every insurer accepts one, because it's a legal document, and on a New York claim it's how the money normally moves.

We take all insurance. GEICO is the one carrier we're a direct repair shop for, and everybody else runs the same route through us: a written estimate, the damage documented, the bill sent to your adjuster on your signed authorization. Whoever your policy is with, the claim can come here. If the car is arriving on a tow, fill in the direction to pay form from your phone on the way over, and it's signed before the car gets here.

Adjuster

The person your insurance company puts on your claim. They look at the damage, approve the estimate and release the money. We deal with yours, so you're not sitting in a phone tree on your lunch break.

Estimate

The written breakdown of every part, every labor hour and every refinish operation the job calls for. Ours is free, and you read it before anything on the car moves.

Supplement

A revised estimate, filed once teardown turns up damage nobody could see from outside. It's a normal part of a claim this size, and ours go over with the photographs already attached.

Direction to pay

Your signed instruction telling the carrier to pay us for the repair. It moves money, and that is all it moves. You still pick where the car goes, and you still approve the estimate before a part is ordered.

Deductible

The fixed amount your policy makes you pay toward a covered repair. You settle it here when you collect the car. New York law treats waiving or absorbing a deductible as insurance fraud, for the shop and for the customer both, so yours shows on the estimate at its real number.

Total loss

What your insurer declares once the estimate passes a set share of what the car is worth. At that point the carrier settles with you on the value of the vehicle and the repair doesn't happen.

Supplements

What if the insurance estimate doesn't cover the repair?

We file a supplement. An adjuster prices what can be seen from outside the car: a scraped bumper cover, a crushed fender, a lamp broken at the tab. The parts that decide what the job really costs are behind that cover, and they only show up once the car is apart.

Straight off the tow truck, intake number still on the glass, before the first photograph goes to the adjuster.

On this GMC Sierra the bumper, the grille and the headlight read from ten feet away. The radiator support behind them, the wheel-side structure and the wiring loom running through it are the supplement. We tear it down, photograph it, write the revision with part numbers and labor times on it, and send that over for approval before any of the extra work starts. We run that conversation with your insurance company, and you get a copy of every version of the estimate as it changes.

Parts and Certifications

Will my car get OEM parts on an insurance job?

We use OEM parts, which are the parts the manufacturer built your car with. Aftermarket and recycled parts are copies or used originals, and an insurance estimate is sometimes written around them to bring the total down. Where the manufacturer's own procedure calls for original equipment, we put that to your adjuster in writing with the part numbers on it.

An adjuster takes that push-back seriously when there's training and certification sitting behind it. Our certified technicians hold I-CAR training, and the shop carries OEM certification from BMW, Honda, Toyota, Kia and Hyundai. Manufacturer repair procedures are written around manufacturer parts, so when we push back on a line in the estimate, we're reading from a printed procedure.

ADAS calibration is part of the same conversation. A windshield, a bumper cover or a mirror on a car with lane keeping and adaptive cruise is carrying cameras and radar, and all of it has to be recalibrated once the panel is back on. We do that here, and it goes on the estimate where your adjuster can see it, because a car handed back with an uncalibrated camera is a car that was never finished.

Real Work

What a finished insurance repair looks like

This BMW 8 Series came in with the left front corner torn open: bumper cover split back to the arch, headlight housing broken away at its mount, fender creased into the wheel opening. Every bit of it went through a claim.

  • A free written estimate with the reasoning on it, handed over before anything on the car is touched
  • Photographs of every damaged part, filed with the claim and sent to your adjuster
  • OEM parts, plus a written case to your adjuster anywhere the estimate was drawn around cheaper ones
  • Paint mixed to your car's factory code and tinted against the panel it's going on
  • ADAS cameras and radar recalibrated once the panels are back on the car
  • A lifetime warranty on parts, labor and paint, for as long as you own the vehicle

The warranty covers the work we did, for as long as the car stays yours. A later accident is a new repair, and that's the only carve-out on it. Our New York State DMV motor vehicle repair shop registration is 7135479, and the sign is on the wall.

  • “I can’t recommend this shop enough! After buying my car, I unfortunately found out the previous owner had left me with a lot of problems. They had installed the front bumper horribly, and there were several other issues caused by poor workmanship. I went to multiple mechanic and body shops before coming here, and it felt like everyone was either trying to delay the repair or didn’t want to deal with the job. Then I found this shop, and they completely changed my experience. They were honest, professional, and got everything taken care of without giving me the runaround. They saved me a huge amount of stress and finally gave me confidence that my car was in the right hands. A special thank you to Charlie. He’s an amazing boss and an even better person. He genuinely cares about his customers, stands behind his team’s work, and made sure everything was done the right way. If you’re looking for a trustworthy shop that does quality work and treats you with respect, this is the place to go. Five stars all the way, I recommend everyone come here!”

The turnaround time was incredibly fast, and the quality of the repairs exceeded all of my expectations. My car looks absolutely amazing, and it’s clear that everyone there takes pride in their work. What impressed me the most was the customer service. That level of communication made me feel valued and gave me complete confidence throughout the entire process. Everyone who works there is friendly, respectful, professional, and genuinely cares about their customers. Anytime I had a question or called for an update, someone was always available to help. Common Questions

Auto body repair and insurance in Brooklyn, NY: FAQs

What drivers want to know once the adjuster has been in touch. If yours isn't here, call and ask us.

Does insurance cover auto body repairs?
Yes, when the damage sits inside the coverage you carry. Collision coverage pays to repair impact damage from an accident. Comprehensive picks up what happens while nobody is driving: theft, fire, flood, a branch coming down on the car overnight. If the other driver is found at fault, their liability coverage pays and your own deductible never enters it. Size makes no difference to the route either, so a scuffed door gets filed the same way a rebuilt front end does. Bring us the claim number, we'll write the estimate against what the car needs, and it goes to your adjuster with the damage photographs attached.
Do insurance companies pay body shops directly?
Yes, once you sign a direction to pay. That short authorization tells your carrier to send the repair payment straight to us in place of mailing you a check to pass along. Every insurer accepts one, because it's a legal document, and on a New York claim it's the normal way the money moves. Skip it and the check goes to your address first, and the car waits while you forward it on.
Is it better to get an insurance quote for damage or an auto body shop?
Get both, and get the shop's estimate first. An adjuster writes from photographs or a quick walk-around and prices the damage that shows. A shop pulls the bumper cover and the trim off and writes from what is under them, which is where a bent bracket, a cracked headlight tab or a snapped sensor mount lives. The two numbers usually differ, and closing that gap is the whole reason a supplement exists. Nothing stops you bringing the car by before you file anything at all.
Where is the best auto body repair shop in Brooklyn for insurance work?
Judge any shop on four things you can check in about a minute: its New York State DMV repair shop registration number, the manufacturer and I-CAR certifications behind the technicians, what the warranty covers in writing, and what reviewers say about the insurance side of the work. Exclusive Collision & Repair is at 28 Marginal St W in Cypress Hills, Brooklyn, NY, registered with the NYS DMV as shop 7135479, certified by BMW, Honda, Toyota, Kia and Hyundai plus I-CAR, with a lifetime warranty on parts, labor and paint. Come stand in it before you decide anything.
Can my insurance company make me use their shop?
No. New York gives the person who owns the vehicle the right to pick the repair facility, and no carrier can require you to use one off its list. Your insurer may suggest somewhere from its network, and you can take that suggestion or leave it without the claim changing. We're a GEICO direct repair shop, and every other company we work with runs the same route: you name us on the claim, we write the estimate, we bill them.
What is a direction to pay form?
A direction to pay is a signed authorization telling your insurance company to pay the repair shop directly on your claim. It carries the shop, the claim number and the policy details, and it moves the payment without moving any of your rights. You still choose where the car goes, you still see every estimate, and nothing is repaired until you say so. Ours gets filled in and signed from your phone, often before the car has reached Marginal Street.
What happens if you find more damage after the repair starts?
We photograph it and file a supplement with your adjuster. A supplement is a revised estimate covering damage nobody could see at the first inspection, and on a collision claim it's an ordinary thing to file. The new parts and the labor they take get written up with part numbers and sent over for approval, and only then does that work go ahead. We run that conversation with your insurance company, and you get a copy of every version of the estimate.
Will my car get OEM parts or aftermarket parts on an insurance job?
We use OEM parts, which are the parts the manufacturer built your car with. Aftermarket and recycled parts are copies or used originals, and an insurance estimate is sometimes written around them to bring the total down. Where the manufacturer's own procedure calls for original equipment, we put that to your adjuster in writing with the part numbers attached. Our BMW, Honda, Toyota, Kia and Hyundai certifications and our I-CAR training are what lets us make that case.
Do I still have to pay my deductible?
Yes. Your deductible is the fixed amount your policy makes you pay toward a covered repair, and you settle it here when you collect the car. New York law treats waiving or absorbing a deductible as insurance fraud, for the shop and for the customer alike, so it's not something we'll offer you. You'll see your deductible written against the estimate, so there's nothing waiting for you at the counter that you haven't already read.

Got a claim open?
Bring us the number.

Tell us what happened, who you're insured with, and whether the car still moves. You'll get a plain description of the work and a list of what your carrier is going to want from you, before you've said yes to anything. Email comes back in about two hours during shop hours, and a call or a text gets us quicker.
